Legato-
- Legato is a Latin or Itialian word that translates as "Long", or "Connected"
- In Percussion Legato means you let the stick rebound, like a basketball
3 rules of Legato
- You must use enough downward force for the stick to bounce back up.
- You must leave space between the back of the stick and your palm, so that you do not trap the stick down, and it can rebound.
- You must be ready to move with the stick as it rebounds, so that you do not inhibit the rebound.
Quarter Note
